Ricky Wascher, Owner and Operator

My name is Ricky, and I am a musician/singer/songwriter/producer. I was raised in a very musical family and first picked up the guitar at around age 7. I began playing with my first band at age 14 and went on to make records and tour with rock bands in Mexico in the 90s. After several years of intense performing, I decided to take a break from the live scene at age 25.

Although I don’t actively play in bands at this time, I have continued to be involved in music through writing, arranging, recording, producing, mixing, mastering, coaching and occasional gigging, as well as working as a session musician. In 2004, I launched my own small personal home project studio as a place to put my own ideas “on tape.” This endeavor quickly evolved, and I soon found myself mixing, recording and even producing music for other bands and artists.

In 2015, I opened Cimamusic Mix & Mastering and have worked with dozens of bands and artists from all over, including Nogales, Tucson and Phoenix, Arizona; Los Angeles; and Las Vegas – as well as artists from abroad such as the United Kingdom, Mexico, Spain, Finland and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines!

I love what I do, and I really enjoy helping bands/musicians/artists to bring their music to life!

Origins of the name “Cimamusic”

“Cima” (pronounced see-muh) is Spanish for “peak,” as in “peak of the mountain.” The name originated from a Spanish language band I formed in the late 90s. We chose “Cima” because we wanted a name that reflected something that was both positive and spiritual (always shoot for the top, always be your best). I always felt a connection to the name and have carried it since; and I felt it was an ideal name for my studio. Not only do I want to “shoot for the top” and succeed at what I do, I also strive to help my clients do the same!
